artysan / README.md
Hi, I'm Samuel
Freelance developer in Rome, born in 2003; I sign my work as Artysan. I design and build complete systems, from architecture to production, and I use AI agents every day: not as a shortcut, but as a tool that has to be designed to be reliable.
Today I work with an agency in Rome on products with AI inside, and I run my own projects: an SEO product with two partners, my working environment for agents, and an app for playing D&D at the table. Meanwhile, I study computer science.
What I do
- Agentic systems: environments where multiple agents work well together, with memory, tools, guards and verification.
- Products with AI inside: from spec to production, with the cost of every model call measured before setting a price.
- Integrations and automation: WhatsApp Business, payments and invoicing, n8n in production on instances with over a hundred workflows.
- Infrastructure: my own servers with Coolify, CI on Forgejo, migrations between providers without losing data.
- Security as a habit: secrets in a vault, permissions computed server-side, explicit confirmation before every production write.
How I work
- I understand the problem before writing code: goals, constraints, what really matters.
- I propose, with the trade-offs written down: two or three options, one recommendation. You decide.
- I build in verifiable increments: no "trust me", every step is actually tested.
- I hand over and leave you autonomous: deploy, docs, your code. No lock-in.
What I'm studying
AI from the inside: how a transformer works, fine-tuning, evaluations. I learn from official docs and by building large projects. Growing: Go for lightweight services, Python for model work.
What I work with
- Machines: a desktop with a Ryzen 7 9700X and a Radeon RX 9070 XT, an Acer laptop, both on CachyOS with KDE. A server at OVH for everything self-hosted.
- Editor: Zed, with Claude Code alongside.
- Everyday stack: TypeScript on Deno and Node, React, Hono, Postgres, Docker.
- Home base: Forgejo at git.artysan.me for repositories, GitHub for what's public, Coolify for deploys, n8n for automation.
